I organized a fundraiser and had to wear a formal suit, so I was on the market for a pair of men's dress shoes. In fact dress shoes are a must for almost all formal occasions. Since they are considered formal wear it's fruitless to try and find ones with stylish designs. Instead, I focused mainly on the shape of the shoes to help decide which ones to get. I own one pair and these Via Europa black dress shoes are my latest and greatest acquisition. I am not a huge fan of conventional dress shoes' design that has either raised up tips or pointed tips and just looks plain ugly. I guess I was attracted to these shoes because they lack those two elements.

As far as men's dress shoes go, these are rather simply designed. I appreciate the lack of any fancy yet undesirable patterns that might otherwise ruin the shoes for me. I wanted a pair of well-balanced and evenly profiled black dress shoes and I believe this one fits the bill.

I prefer to wear a black dress shirt and dark blue jeans whenever I have these shoes on as they go so well with each other. Needless to say, these are great for formal or semi-formal attire and you will totally look and feel like a professional in them.

In formal attire to go with this pair of black dress shoes you should have grey or black dress pants. Some may want to put on white dress pants but doing so may you appear too high profile and lackluster simply because the contrast between the pants the the shoes is too big. As for the tops put on your classic black or grey dress shirt or jacket.

One caveat is that leather shoes tend to run smaller, so you may want to size up.
