A cardigan is a type of knit shirt that has an open front and usually have a big V shape in the front when completely buttoned or zipped. Often, cardigans can be tied, buttoned, or zipped.

By contrast, a pullover does not open in front but must be "pulled over" the head to be worn.

Here are two most popular and stylish ways to wear a men's cardigan:

Wear a Cardigan With a Shirt
As you can see in Photo #1 paring a cardigan with a shirt looks very visually attractive. I wear a white shirt and a black cardigan but any combination of neutral colors should work. Pairing a cardigan with a shirt is great for going to work or a semi formal gathering!

You can get creative and wear warm or cold colors and you need to be careful when picking the colors. If you pick disagreeing colors your outfit may look funny.

Wear a Cardigan With a T-shirt
Photo #2 shows an outfit with a white cardigan and a gray T-shirt. This outfit looks more casual and is best for casual occasions. If you pick a solid color T-shirt the outfit looks more elegant and classy.

If you pick a graphic tee like Photo #3 the outfit looks more adolescent and cheerful!

Photo #4 shows a different type of cardigan. This cardigan has a hood and is one of the most versatile and stylish clothes I own. Pairing this dark red cardigan with a graphic tee doesn't look bad does it?

A cardigan is so versatile that any man must stock several cardigans in their closet!
